A Heartfelt Celebration of Togetherness

A cherished group photo beautifully captures YYC volunteers, the children, and the dedicated staff of House of Love, all beaming with warmth and unity during this meaningful Chinese New Year gathering.

In the festive spirit of sharing and giving, YYC’s House of Gratitude, Love, and Care (House of GLC) proudly organized a special Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative with Pertubuhan Rumah Anak Yatim Berkat Kasih (House of Love) on Sunday morning, January 19, 2025. Building on the bonds formed through the YYC Charity Run 2024, this marks our second partnership with House of Love and reinforces our commitment to creating lasting, positive change.

About House of Love

House of Love provides a nurturing home for children who are orphaned, neglected, or in need of a safe haven. From its humble beginnings in Klang with just four children, the home has grown to care for 24 children today, supported by six live-in staff and four part-time staff members who come together to provide love, security, and guidance.

Spreading Joy Through Festive Activities

During this heartwarming event, 12 enthusiastic YYC volunteers joined forces to celebrate with the 24 children, most of whom are between 4 and 19 years old. The day began with a friendly introduction and a hands-on session of making Tang Yuan (汤圆)—a traditional Chinese New Year treat. The children delighted in learning how to prepare the sweet glutinous rice balls and happily savored them with a comforting snow fungus dessert soup lovingly prepared by YYCians in the kitchen.

To add more cheer, the volunteers organized a fun-filled Jenga session and encouraged everyone to dance along to the latest Chinese New Year tunes. The laughter and playful spirit truly embodied the essence of the festive season, uniting everyone in moments of pure joy.

Heartfelt Contributions and Lasting Impact

Toward the end of the visit, YYC Executive Chairman, Chau Yap, brought even more smiles by distributing Ang Pows to the children. Beyond the celebration, YYC also offered a monetary contribution to further support the meaningful work of House of Love.

This touching gathering offered us a chance to gain deeper insight into the children’s needs and foster the spirit of volunteerism. By embracing the diversity and cultural richness of Malaysia, this CSR program exemplified how our shared values can bring people together in harmony and goodwill. Above all, it demonstrated YYC’s commitment to uplifting local communities, creating connections that spark hope, and inspiring a brighter future for everyone.
