Q: My wife injured her knee during a sports activity and underwent surgery, therefore, she can't walk for 2 months. I purchased a wheelchair for her. Can I claim tax relief on the wheelchair?

A: You can only qualify to claim tax relief for the wheelchair if your wife is registered with the Department of Social Welfare as a disabled person. As this is an injury and not a disability, you are not eligible to claim tax relief on the purchase of the wheelchair.

Wishing you plentiful tax savings!
