Q: My wife and I are Malaysian citizens working in Singapore and we are no longer a tax resident in Malaysia. Both of us receive rental income for our properties rented out in Malaysia. Can we declare our rental income using only one income tax return form by combining the rental income?

A: You may elect to submit a combined assessment by combining the rental income earned by both of you. However, both of you are still required to submit a separate Form M each to indicate under whose name will this assessment be made.

Wishing you plentiful tax savings!
