Q: I am an employee and have income from sources outside Malaysia that have already been reported and taxed abroad. Do I need to declare this income in my Form BE?

A: Income from sources outside Malaysia that have been taxed in the country of origin is exempted from tax in Malaysia from 1 January 2022 to 31 December 2026. However, even though this income is exempted from tax in Malaysia, you are still required to declare it in your Form BE under the section "Tax Exempt Income from Sources Outside Malaysia Received in Malaysia."
