Q: My mother is a Malaysian citizen who lives in Singapore and is undergoing medical treatment there. Can I claim the parent’s medical treatment tax relief for the medical expenses I paid in Singapore when I file my tax return in Malaysia?

A: No, you are only eligible to claim tax relief for your parent's medical treatment expenses if your mother is a resident individual in Malaysia, the medical treatment is provided in Malaysia, and the claims are certified by a medical practitioner registered with the Malaysian Medical Council in Malaysia.
