Q: If a company’s shares are held by 2 non-SMEs (paid-up capital of more than RM 2.5 million) with 50% shareholding each, will this company be considered as an SME or a non-SME?
*SME – Small Medium Enterprise
A: The company can still be an SME if its paid-up capital is not more than RM 2.5 million because not more than 50% of its shareholding is held by a company with paid-up capital of more than RM 2.5 million.
